Update on Polly
29th January 2009
Things were going so well, as I foolishly revealed in the December 2008 newsletter.

But sadly her fistulae returned in late December - first on the left flank, then on her right flank and finally just last week on her stomach. They are not life-threatening and there is very little blood in the liquid that weeps from them but it's not an encouraging sign. I think another three months of antibiotics may be needed. These external symptoms suggest that worse things may be going on inside. On a positive note she is now sure to beat the Toulouse Vet School estimate of twelve months to live. She has survived ten months and is nowhere near being terminal.
